Halo Palo Alto Is Closing

By on December 27, 2017 in About Halo |

Halo Palo Alto is closing December 31st — ending our eight years at T&C Why? It comes down to rent and parking. Our customers are finding it more and more difficult to park at Town & Country Village and the rent is more than we can afford without raising prices…and we are not raising prices. Your stylist will be moving to one of our three other locations — Menlo Park, Los Altos, or Burlingame. All other locations will remain open and all employees will remain with Halo. Your stylist and YOU! At your next appointment in Palo Alto, your stylist will tell you about their new location. You’ll also receive some nice offers and incentives to make your first visits in Los Altos, Menlo Park, or Burlingame even better. If you prefer a different location for your ongoing services, we will match you with a new, wonderful stylist. Gift cards, memberships, and products will be transferred to your new location. All product you have already purchased at our Palo Alto location will be moved to your new location or handed over for your use at home. All gift cards and memberships are always valid at any Halo location. Need to talk about it? If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Rúna Magowan, President and General Manager, at 415–412–4480. We want to do all we can to make this change as easy as possible on our staff and patrons. Gratitude We are grateful for all the experiences we shared with you at our Palo Alto location. We want to thank Town & Country Village for being such a great home for us for all these years. And finally, we want to thank all of you, our Halo clients, for your loyalty and support. We look forward to more years of great hair with you. — Rosemary and...

Special Assignment!

By on March 12, 2017 in About Halo, Bridal, Hair |

“I’ve never felt so confident, so beautiful, and so in love! Yes, with my groom of course, but also with my hair. It was absolutely perfect, and it set the tone for the entire day. I felt invincible! I’ll never forget how incredible my Halo experts were: kind, thoughtful, and skilled beyond belief…   …They made my dream day exactly what you see – a fairytale!” – Corrine Cook, Senior Editor/Director Special Projects, Gentry Magazine.   There’s no place like home!  For us, that’s one of four Halo locations.  But!  It sure is exciting to be called out on location for a Halo House Call – or in this case, a special editorial assignment! One part of the assignment is a Halo specialty – Bridal hair!  But this was for an unusual wedding – one being featured in the Bay Area’s largest lifestyle magazine.  The Halo team transformed the bride on location at San Francisco’s Historic City Hall for her big day, and the feature shot by photographer, Jack Hutcheson, and the Gentry Magazine editorial team. We’re very pleased with the results.  We hope you enjoy this photo album – and please scroll to the end to see the final magazine editorial spreads.   (Hair and make up trial day at Halo Burlingame.) (Yes, that is former Mayor Willie Brown officiating!) Gentry Magazine, February 2017, Bridal Issue.  Thank you to Gentry and your beautiful bride for including us in this magical experience. All the Days To “I Do” FAQ

By on March 12, 2017 in About Halo, Bridal |

(Hair above by Halo Blow Dry Bars – Burlingame Team.)   What bride wouldn’t want to feel this way?  Beautiful, light-hearted, joyfully spinning in a dream of a wedding?  Having the freedom to relax into a blissful wedding day, unfortunately, is not effortless. Halo’s here to help!  At least in freeing you from the details around hair and make up. We’ve had years of experience and are so proud and happy that countless brides, and bridal parties, have entrusted us, and included us, in all the days up to (and including), “I do!” Read on for frequently asked questions – or call!  800 425-6179.   (Bride to Be hair and make up trial day, Halo Los Altos.)   Q. What are Halo’s bridal services? A. Fabulous blowout, deep conditioning, eye brow tinting, facial waxing, make up lessons, keratin treatments, and try-outs for up-do styles and make up.  At Halo or ask about Halo House Calls.  Of course, you pick and choose your services to customize your experience and budget.   (Make up artist and hair stylist on The Big Day.)     Q. How do I work back from my wedding date to be sure I am not missing anything? A. One of our experts will be your contact for all questions and appointments – call 800 425-6179 – or ask your local Halo store manager. As many days in advance as possible: Meet with a Halo expert to discuss the services you are interested in and schedule all  your appointments well in advance – don’t forget showers, rehearsals and rehearsal dinners, bachelorette weekends, etc.  Start collecting your hair, make up and style inspirations (Pinterest is perfect for this.)  Don’t forget the mother of the bride and all the ladies of the bridal party.   (On a hair and make up trial day, our Bride to Be uses a towel to simulate her strapless wedding dress.)   In the weeks/months before: Many of our brides come in well in advance for make up application lessons for all the special events leading up to the day.  This is great opportunity to sample Jane Iredale make up and to learn customized make up skills to last a lifetime. Also, in the...

Saving the World, One Towel at a Time!

By on August 13, 2016 in About Halo, Community |

We are very excited to announce that beginning in September, Halo will be introducing new one-time-use, luxurious, 100% biodegradable towels. It’s pretty incredible that one innovative change can make such an impact.  Where to start on all the benefits to our clients, to our business, and to our environment? FOR YOU A clean, fresh and sanitized towel eliminates the risk of cross infection (we used the very best cotton towel service, but now we can all have complete peace of mind.) These towels may be thin, but they are super-absorbent.  Faster and less abrasive towel-drying is in your future! FOR US Well, we’ll be able to focus on other things – you know how much time laundry takes. We’re also feeling very good about another green Halo feature, the investment in our community, and looking out for the health of the planet. FOR OUR ENVIRONMENT We’ll be eliminating the water usage and chemicals needed to launder cotton towels. Our new towels are made from certified renewable sources of wood fiber. They are manufactured in modern state-of-the-art facilities using solar electricity and recycled water. Our towels will decompose as naturally occurring micro-organisms break them down into compost, carbon dioxide, and water.   Save Save Save Save Save Save Save Save Save...

Life of the Perfect Blow Dry Kit

By on July 8, 2016 in About Halo, Hair |

We’re simply not interested in one–day hair. Of course, we love a great event up-do, bridal party hair, and watching women leave Halo stepping out with that extra bounce of confidence that comes from a great hair day. But what we live for is amazing hair everyday.  That’s why we’ve pulled together all the product, tips, and DIY instructions to extend that Halo Do for four days after your appointment.  We call it our Life of the Perfect Blow Dry Kit. Ask any Halo stylist for tips, the printed directions, and guidance on the best dry shampoo, cap, and brush for you – and check out our day-by-day how-to videos. Bay Area lifestyle blogger, Suzanne Bell took the five-day challenge – and actually extended her Halo Blow Out for six days.  Check out her post here. Other benefits? Less shampooing and heat from your dryer will lead to healthier hair over time.  Save water! Another tip for extending your blow out and enjoying healthier hair simply by sleeping on it?  Check out Savvy Sleepers.   Save Save Save Save Save Save Save Save...
